Oh, the office fridge…a place where brown-bag belongings can sometimes go to die. Well, at Guy Bauer, we’ve identified a few things that are living on. And on, and on, and on.

Item 1: Mysterious Tupperware of Goo

  • What is it: Good question. It could be au jus. It could be ketchup mixed with Sprite. It could be sample for a doctor’s office. We really don’t know.
  • Approximately how long it has been in the fridge: 3-6 months.
  • Favorite thing about it: Two-way tie between the lid that isn’t quite popped on all the way and the few bubbles that are showing proof-of-life for whatever this may be.

Item 2: A 90% Finished Bottle of Tea

  • What is it: A single-serving bottle of Honest T company’s Radiant Raspberry Tea
  • Approximately how long it has been in the fridge: 6-8 months.
  • Favorite thing about it: The fact that the last sip is apparently being saved for a rainy/snowy/late fall/early winter/spring/summer/TBD day.

Item 3: Standard Strawberry Jelly

  • What is it: A glass jar of Smucker’s Strawberry Jelly
  • Approximately how long it has been in the fridge: A year.
  • Favorite thing about it: Two words: office staple. Also, even though we’ve never seen anyone use it, it’s somehow almost all gone. Magic.

Item 4: Pickle Juice

  • What is it: A pickle jar, sans pickles
  • Approximately how long it has been in the fridge: god only knows.
  • Favorite thing about it: The pickles are gone, but its legacy still lives on by keeping a jar full of the very juice in which they once floated. Not weird at all, right?

Item 5: Another jar of jelly…

  • What is it: A glass bottle of Smucker’s Red Raspberry jelly
  • Approximately how long it has been in the fridge: 4-5 months.
  • Favorite thing about it: Unlike its Strawberry counterpart, this jar of jelly looks like it was flipped upside down and its contents have defied gravity. Super Jelly? We think so.
