Hello one and all! My name is Sam Kreps and I’m the new guy here at Guy Bauer Productions. I’m originally from Cincinnati so Chicago is completely new as well.
I’ve been looking to explore what The Second City has to offer, so I’ve been asking my co-workers for the one thing they recommend I check out. Here’s the list:
Guy Bauer (CEO): Have to hit up Wrigley Field, it’s a must.
Adam Moorman (Director): Check out as many concerts as you can. Explore the venues around the city, really get into the music scene.
Kirstin Dorsch (Producer): Go to the free Lincoln Park Zoo!
At this point I’d like to point out this was a jab at me complaining for the past two weeks that I still have not been to the FREE zoo here in Chicago. Why? Because my roommates won’t go with me. (Update: I still have not gone to the zoo)
Anthony Casanova (Post-Production Supervisor): Without a doubt, a bike ride from at least Belmont down to Navy Pier via the Lakeshore path. Nothing beats that view.
Mark Putong (Visual Effects Supervisor): Check out original prints of older movies at the Gene Siskel Film Center.
Grant Stakenas (Sound Designer): Check out the “semi” secret beach under Lake Shore Dr.
Jimmy Murray (Editor): Hit up the hometown festivals like Lollapalooza or Pitchfork.
Needless to say, I think my coworkers have given me quite the spectrum of activities to keep me occupied for some time. If you have any other recommendations, feel free to comment and let me know!
